I have exactly the opposite problem.
I have exactly the opposite problem.

We went to Isla Mujeres yesterday.

We saw the Turtle farm.

We went snorkeling at the Hotel Garrafón de Castilla. I can’t recommend it highly enough. I took lots of pictures, but those probably won’t be developed until we get back to Austin.

This is where we ate lunch.

This was what I had. It was ludicrously cheap—the US price is around 9 bucks for almost a pound of fresh grilled salmon, topped with goat cheese, atop a bed of grilled asparagus, tomatoes, mushrooms, and green beans.

How I Made My Presentations a Little Better

I’ve really been on a Mann kick lately, haven’t I?

Regardless, this is a really great post. Anyone who has to make and present slides for an audience—executives, writers, and, yes, even students—should absolutely read this. Trust me, it will improve your presentations greatly.

Tim Burton’s take on Alice in Wonderland looks…well, like something Tim Burton would make. I hope it manages to bring back the weirdness and slight scariness of the Disney animated film.

Still-sparkling
I fucking love Merlin Mann.
To recap: YouTube is a great example of Free, except that Free technology ends up not being Free because of the way consumers respond to Free, fatally compromising YouTube’s ability to make money around Free, and forcing it to retreat from the “abundance thinking” that lies at the heart of Free. Credit Suisse estimates that YouTube will lose close to half a billion dollars this year. If it were a bank, it would be eligible for TARP funds.
Wallabies like opium as much as we do
This is odd and adorable. Read it.
I think design is a way to understand the world around us…it’s a way to see what we think of as being important, it’s the way that we create a sense of who we are (not just as people but as countries or cities), and it’s… far too important and interesting just to leave to designers.
